FJ Cruisers of Northern California

At the Beer Night Up North last week a few of us were talking about putting together an install day for those of us that jumped on the Freedom Windows GB.  Well, the time has come to start discussing because I just recieved mine in the mail today!  I am ITCHING to put these bad boys on but it takes some special tools and experience that I dont have.  Some of you have experience with these and I'm sure are willing to help, which is one thing I love about this community.  So lets here from those that are willing to help, those of us that need a little technical guidance but are willing to do the work, and those who have these in a box and think they can identify a screwdriver.  :)  Who wants in?

I got mine too and not installed yet. I'm busy with my headlight hid bi-xenon projector lens projects.
I have 4 orders to make and delivered in two weeks.

I have watched the install video and believe that after you get the glass outta the way the rest of the install is a breeze...

I'm down to help out

I have mine and need to install.. Maybe talk to Dave ( convertible camo) at beer night he said he might be interested in helping and said he can remove glass. Sounded like maybe at his shop. I didn't get his contact number but If someone gets it for me I would be happy to ask him.

That would be perfect.  He's in Petaluma right?  Nice and close!  I think MarinCruzin might have his number.  He was the one to invite them to the beer night, right?

perhaps a North Bay Freedom Window install day followed by a brewery after?
where do I sign up?
I think you just dud ;)

*did

You party animal!

so, how many of you have actually installed your Freedom Windows? i know NDA and FJ Scout have, but it's kinda gone silent. just curious to hear how the replacement went.

Still in a very organized box.

Mine had some leaks after a couple of weeks. Had to redo the backing plates double sided tape, made sure no gaps at the joints and secured the four corners with self tapping screws. The rubber insulation are not think enough so I replaced them with marine grade 1" width rubber window insulation ($8.99 @ lLowe's) to provide better coverage/wider contact with plexiglass windows.

Wife (the "general") and I are still enjoying them.
