FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Since Ive had my FJ, i noticed on the net that most of FJs that hit the Trails are pretty much stock.. maybe an upgrade on better wheels and gear ratios.. Im just wondering if I actually made the right decision with my FJ.. I do want it to look good and at the same time i want to take it out on trails. So far its a Trail Teams edition package with a Procomp Stage2 5.5" lift and Im rollin on 20x12.5x35s.. Will it still be good enough for the trails or am i stuck with paved roads? A jeep guy at work pretty much said i wont make it out on the trails.. basically he said its all show no go....

FIrst of all who care what a heep person has to say. I will put a stock FJ up against a stock heep any day of the week.. Sounds like you have some big wheel and tires, they also sounds like street tire from description so a pic would be nice. Also with that size of a tire you will rug on your body mt. I will need pics thought cuz I cannot picture your set up. And with 35's you might want to think abut re-gearing. OF course it all depends on what kind of wheeling that you want to do... Post up some pics so we can see what your rigs looks like.

When you come out to Hollister please invite your heep friend, I love pulling out stuck heeps !!

Please bring your Jeep co-worker out, I will show him what a stock FJ w/ street tires can do.

I work in SantaCruz and thats all i see there.. Jeeps.. i like jeeps, nothing against them.. buy i get crazy looks from their owners alot..
Um I Live and work in Santa Cruz my brother.. Come on up to the Mtns !! Thats where all the real rigs are.....

where do you work in SC???? Maybe I will stop on by.....
i work out of the PG&E yard on 7th.. i see all the best FJ40s up there.. thats my job i drive those trails all they long with my company truck..
really so you are saying that you have access to trails?????
i have access to customers property.. which is mostly up on the santa cruz hills.. you would be amazed on what it takes to get to some peoples homes sometimes.. too bad im driving a ford ranger to get there instead of my FJ..
I too have the pro comp stage 2 lift and I've been all over the place. No worry at all bro.
do you know if Procomp offers a skid plate for these lift kits yet? or is there another brand one that works with it?
There are a ton of skids out there, but from everyone i know the majority have BUD BUILT.

p.s. TONKA, who lives right across the street from me, also has the pro comp stage 2 lift like you and i.
will BUD BUILT work with the lift we have? what i mean is.. will it bolt on or will it need some mods to fit?
I'm curious to know if your tires rub against your fj's body for the front 2 wheels. Most people that run 35's have to do the body mount chop, which i have done.
