FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Just wanted to let everyone know that I managed to get approved for a full repair to my 07 TRD. The driver side tore, and the passenger side was close. Toyota has approved the full replacement. It goes in on the 3rd, and will probably take a couple of weeks.

The only "bad" thing is that they want me to sign a waiver acknowledging that the damage occurred while driving off road, and that any other off road damage would not be fixed. While I disagree in general, the fact is that my 5 year extended warranty is up in Feb 2012, so I don't know what else I could expect to have covered.

Cheers.

Right on, Lucky You!

Yes in deed, Thank god for extended warranties. Good for you Ross, I had a transmission/TQ change at 95k and only cost me 600 dollars out of pocket. I consider myself lucky also. See you on a trail soon.

I had hoped it would go smoothly. I know that "technically" it doesn't hurt the safety, but the rip is rusting, and it'll be better if it is fixed with the upgraded sheetmetal.

Bottom line -- if you have it, don't be afraid to take it in, and make sure that you take a positive approach. The proper terminology is "Engine Bay body rip" ;)

Nice.. Extended warranty is well worth it if you have the right toyota dealership to work with.

Which dealership did you bring it to?
