FJ Cruisers of Northern California

does anyone have a diesel conversion on their on the FJ? I found a place that does it but does anyone know if anyone has tried it?
better fuel economy, more torque, less maintenance...there website is:

the engine they have available for the conversion would be off a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

You will run into issues at least in CA trying to do a Diesel conversion and keeping it street legal.

It's not just a engine you have to swap out you have to change your entire fuel delivery and exhaust systems as well.

Based on the model year you will have to have all the smog components in place meaning DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) as well as catalytic converter that are required for the model year of the FJ you have. Also being that there is not a Diesel FJ in the US getting the it approved by DMV will take an act of god.

If you did a specialty build you may be able to to it, but you would probably be stuck with a trail only rig and have to trailer it everywhere you wanted to wheel
I've been wishing this was possible but I'd like to find a diesel V-6 twin turbo that would "drop-in" but that ain't gonna happen
ya, exactly! wish it could be a possibility.....
