Deer Valley & Slickrock Run, 7/25/09

had a great time! Possibly the last overnighter of the year for me, and it was a good one. We (Sol, C4B, mikerd400, and me) started the day off running Deer Valley, north to south, around 10am and made it through by 1pm. Sol led the way and we only suffered some minor carnage. mikerd400 had a small leak in a tire and c4b ran into a boulder leaving a mark of black cherry on it. I got more pinstripes and also scratched up the plastic fenders on a rock.

Then we headed south to the north end of Slickrock to meet up with sonof40. Unfortunately, Sol had to leave since his front end sounded like a tractor. We all made it through unscathed and ended up camping at the end of the trail.

We ended up doing a night run on Slickrock, mr. & mrs. bozly, c4b, me, and a cool dude we met in a built jeep. We ran half the trail up past the granite face (slickrock) and decided to turn around.

Anyway, enough with the story...

thanks for the pics! it's nice to see Mike's truck again...looking good. so it sounds like you ended up doing the final obstacle at Slickrock three times? must've been an interesting experience at night.

Nice pics! BTW my FJC is back together. Basically, I rebuilt the front axle over the last two days. What fun! I had a blast on Deer Valley. I bet we could do that trail in 90 minutes if we did not stop.
