Couple of questions about my used FJ's (2008) wheel/tire combo

Hey all,

Relatively new here and had some questions about the wheels/tires combo on my rig. Right now they are Cooper Discoverer STT m+s 33x12.5r17LT. Looking at the wheel well I do see theres been a body mount chop but appears to be stock upper arm (have about a 1/2" of clearance) and revtec spacers.

Really it feels like the previous owner just wanted a slightly beefed up version for looks without practicality in mind based on some of the initial mods. I welcome any tips, comments or suggestions as I'll probably be looking for a new set of tires in the near future. This being my first 4x4 I just want to be sure I'm headed down the right path.

yea definitely stock UCAs and it does seem to be rubbing a lot on your body mount plus just a spacer lift for the clearance of the tires. best thing to do is wheel with what you have to see what you need to upgrade/replace. hope to see you out on the trail or at a meet n greet sometime.

I second what was said.. Wheel it and see where you need improvement

Thanks for the tips, I'll make it out here soon.. can't do the hollister event but hopefully soon after that

Why are you looking to change tires? Looks like there is a bunch of tread left.

yep im still at 10/32, not ready to get new just yet.. I'm on an online information gathering expedition here just to get my ducks in a row hahah
