The mount was a 4"x4"x1/4" plate with a 1/4"thick triangle gusset. works perfect
you may want to add two more legs in the middle, they really do help out

The design was sufficiant to what I normaly do on a trail thats why I didnt add the extra mounts and door protection I used 1/4 tubbing for extra support. I wouldnt recomend using this design on a nasty trail where your hitting every 10 feet so i should have put that in my comment before. thanks for pointing that out bz.

Looks good.. nice and simple design.. I would maybe suggest putting some sort of cap on the end.. Just seems like a a way to get stuck on something.. But if you do easy to moderate stuff , you should be fine..
