Hi All,

I didn't want to hijack Botched's thread about the airbag light so here goes...

When I drive, I tend to rest my arm on the passenger arm rest.  I've never noticed this before but as of recent, the airbag light goes on if i put even a little weight on the arm rest.  I've driven like this for 55,000 miles and never noticed before.

Is my arm getting fatter or is the seat more sensitive now?

That IS odd. I assume you mean the arm rest attached to the passenger seat. You might check the two connections under the seat but really that shouldn't have any effect even if it were loose. Hmm...

yes, i mean the arm rest attached to the passenger seat.  i've done this for 3 years and now it acts up....  anyone know how much weight it takes to trigger the light?

I'm guessing about 10 Lbs but the sensor is in the seat bottom. I've had a laptop trigger it before.

My honda does this if the person leans to the left or right.  Dealer says it is a faulty sensor in the seat cushion.

Its weird cuz my son's weight will trigger the alarm but ater the seat belt is buckled the air bag light will go off. but when the wife (or any adult) sits there the airbag light will stay one. I am not sure of this but it would appear the the seat is somewhat wight sensitive as that it can turn off the air bag for a small child and can turn it on when there is more weight.  Of Course I could totally be wrong about this as I have never looked this up before, its just what I have observed.
