70 Series Coming back to japan For limited run for anniversary...Toyota possibly testing the waters?

Toyota is bringing back the 70 series back to japan in a limited run using the 4.0L V6 from the FJ For it's 30th B day. Could this be, maybe, Fingers crossed a step towards a possible north american run? A boy can dream...

It is $34,000 for the 79 and 35K for the 76 with the manual and V6. Although i would prefer the turbo diesel that is currently in it in other markets . This is a positive sign.

I wouldn't take it as any kind of indication of an american release. Not saying that I wouldn't LOVE to get a double cab with the tubo diesel!!!

I know that's why i say i can dream but it is interesting and seems to have been enthusiast demand driven in japan and shows they are listening and there is a pretty vocal 70 series movement here in the US.

I just don't get why Toyota would not market a truck like that here. The jeep Rubicon and ford raptor sell well. I imagine a turbo diesel land cruiser would sell much better

And be better than both.

Hell. I would sell a kidney and rob some liquor stores to buy one

I'm not gonna hold my breath. They've been selling them for 30 years overseas and never here. I don't see them starting up now.
