5th Official Install Day and Meet & Greet - August 16, 2009

hey gang, we're back to CA Annie and MoabFJ's pad for the 5th Official Install Day and Meet & Greet.

Date: Sunday, August 16, 2009
Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: 3065 Richmond Parkway, Richmond, CA - the green pointer is the entrance to the gate-secured lot where we will be hosting the social.
More information: The area used for the install day is a gate-secured parking lot and has a small picnic area. The lot can easily accommodate a little over 20 rigs. Bring your own food and beverage...your own tools would help too, but feel free to inquire about needed tools beforehand.

install days are a great way to seek that extra hand you need to get that bumper on or learn how to do simple installs yourself. these events are also meet & greets, so it's the perfect way to see what others have done to their FJCs and to meet members of the NorCal FJs.

if you have an item you'd like to install or need help with, please post up.

the 6th Official Install Day and Meet & Greet will be held in the Sacramento area this fall. date and location TBD.

I'll be there!
I'll go to help. I have been collecting tools to change out our suspension, so it gives me another chance to use them. MoabFJ, hard part about ucas is taking out the ball joint. Resty and I had some trouble hammering out that sucker, but others seemed like it didn't take much effort. Mine took a good whack. Easy way to do it is with a ball joint seperator. I've seen it work and it doesn't require any strenuous hammering.
You need a pickle fork !! I need one as well and I am going to see what they have at my local store..

Accutally when I did my suspension I did not remove the upper control are I sep the ball joints.. not the easy way to go but it worked..

Boss
I have two sizes of forks, I will bring them.
I agree with the ball joint seperator and you should be able to rent that at a kragen's store.
I would've done the same. I need to get a pickle fork as well. Boss, I have been collecting snap on tools! My prybar is coming soon.
Pickle forks are no good for separating ball joints. They'll screww up the rubber seals. There is an easier way.
The Force?
it's a secret. BTW, Hoff, I've got a picklefork if you want it.
same here...

i can see how they'll screw up the rubber seals.

But if your replacing the UCA then why care ?????
Snap-on is ncie !! most of mine are snap on but they can be $$$$$$ .. Did you find a dealer or do you just stop when you see the trucks ?????

Its great feeling to buy new tools...

Boss
