I just picked up my truck today from inch worm. Had the gears finally installed in the front. It only took 1.5 months to do. Maybe now if I'm allowed I can get out.

You just need to change the oil after 500 miles.

FYI- you are supposed to do that with any gears but I didn't when I first got the truck.
Nice Peter... I just got mine back also and breaking in the gears.. which is the sucky part.
What did they tell you to do?
I have to do 3 cycles of no freeway and drive for 30 minutes and let the gears cool down for 45 minutes, I had to do that 2 more times. Just to make sure i don't bust my gear I probably did 5 cycles then I was able to drive in the freeway.

after the cycles I have to drive the fj under 55 mpg for 500 miles. so total of 600 miles. the cycle I did is close to 100 miles
now I am able to drive in the freeway but under 55 mph. I can tell the difference with the 4:56 gears. :-)
Wow. With an automatic it's tough. Your only in 4wd when you need it. So to get the front broke in is tough. I was told to put it in 4wd for short durations frequently and change the fluid at 500.

Of course I could jus drive it like it's stolen
You don't want to do that. Toy connection showed me a set of gears that they installed on a 4 runner he didn't listen to the instruction and he messed up the gears because the gears didn't get harden properly....
The comments is for driving it like it's stolen...

Damn it's hard to hold back on stepping on the gas..lol
i'm jealous. the ride definitely seemed much better.
Hi Resty, Glad to hear you are back with your truck. Will we see you next weekend at slickrock?
I won't be going to slickrock this year..:-( again..
