Event Description

Desert Camping, Trails and Mine Exploring.

We will be leaving Lompoc Starbucks, 1436 North H St, Thursday March 24th at 6AM and heading to Mojave. We will meet up in Mojave (location to be determined) at 10AM then head into Last Chance Canyon to set up a base camp, do some trails, exploring and hiking. We will head home Sunday, Mar 27th.

Everyone is welcome to join us. This will be a primitive camp with no toilets or showers.

same area, but the shafts are widespread across most desert areas out there. most are marked or fenced off but not all

Comment by FJJeremy on January 20, 2011 at 10:24pm: Hmmmm I just came back from Last Chance Canyon this past weekend and it was a pretty cool place!!! I am definitely going to show up for at least a day, but am probably not going to end up camping out. While I was there, I attempted the V-notch and ended up backing out. I am kinda upset at myself for doing this because I know I could make it if I did it correctly. While backing out, I ended up busting my drivers side turn signal and placing a nice dent in the fender. Since then, it's all I can think about!!! I NEED to do it again for my own gratification. I look forward to seeing those who attend!
