Hey guys! I know its been a while since I've been on here, but a few of us are going to Slick Rock on 5/18-5/19 and wanted to see if you guys wanted to join. A few of you guys went last year with us and we had a blast!

Comment by Blowtorch Betty on April 8, 2013 at 8:24pm: That'd be the place! I got winched in both times, towed out the first time, and actually made it out on my own (almost) the second time at a hard angle with a guy giving my rear bumper a good shove :)

Comment by Blowtorch Betty on April 8, 2013 at 3:34pm: Bummer, I just realized that the ED4 Safety Clinic is the same weekend, and I'm volunteering at it. Hopefully, the trail isn't as torn up by green-sticker vehicles as it was last October (overused because it was the only trail open in the area). Beware the "hard side" of the final obstacle--I nearly rolled the FJ coming down it the second time! Also, there were some new big rocks that had been winched into the middle of the trail at the bottom/entrance to the final obstacle, and every FJ (including me) and Land Cruiser I saw had to be winched over on both of my trips. They may have been moved by now though.

Comment by mjonags32 on March 26, 2013 at 9:08am: I forgot to mention that we'll be camping at Silver Creek which is a little past the trail head from Lake Alpine. Free camping :)
