Event Description

Intro to 4wheeling @ Hollister Hills with Bz

Due to tons of new folks and questions about off-road driving I will be conducting two newbie runs the 1st of which is Jan 29th

Post up if you want to ride along for a bit before we hit the trails

I will give a safety and intro/ familiarization with the way we communicate as spotters on the trail will be done at the 1st obstacle course then A realtime demo with one of our experienced drivers (Boss or daPitt) at the crack or the staircase, then some fallow the leader around the New Obstacle course ride alongs till everyone "gets it", and a ride up to Hector Heights the easy way and whatever else we can fit in...

Bring our own lunch and beverages and please don't bring booze you can get a DUI in the park!!!

SO where are we all going to meet up at the park ??? Should we just head over to the new obstacle course ? or meet in the same spot at the old one?? Maybe with so many newbs going should we pick anew meeting place????

Damn do I have a lot of questions, or what ????  Oh no another question....

I'm truckless so I'll just jump from empty seat to empty seat or spot as need be.

Thanks Tater, I will use discression.  I just wanted to speak for us whom are actually "newbies" going to the newbie run.  :)

mmm, 15 tacos...hungry.

Navedtra...separated by experience. you'll be forewarned, hopefully, if the leader takes you through an obstacle that requires sliders. most of the trails, you won't need them unless you choose to do some of the obstacles or difficult, unlisted trails.

I saw the post about "putting the armor on" and the posts about seperate groups.  I for one still have a basically stock truck with no sliders.  I have never been to Hollister so I dont know the terrain.  I have a lot of experience off road with former vehicles but so far SNT poker run was the hardest I have been with my FJ.  My question is... do the groups need to be separated by experience or the truck?

Good Question Tater.. I remember that day well and left early cuz I got sick the the traffic. I have a # in my head of what I will take with me. If I get someone on the tail I will increase but its not near the total # going. SO there should be several groups going out at different times. I wish BZ would post up his plans.........

how are the groups going to be broken down? as mentioned in the thread that was deleted, some are more newb than others and should be in a separate group than the rest for ride-alongs and familiarization of the "tools". for the others, the intro may not be relevant. last time we had 19 trucks, two groups didn't cut it...slow, lots of waiting, etc.

I will, I still need to put the armor on. I'll crawl under the FJ tomorrow to see if I can figure out what goes where.
