Event Description

Every year Shaver Lake has a fireworks display over the lake wich can be seen very well from the top of Bald Mountain. This year it will be on July 7th. It is an easy trail with some side atractions like Posi rock, V rock and hollywood hill. All skill levels can run this trail with no damage to your rigs even if its stock with street tires. Ill be heading up friday the 6th to gain a camping spot below the trail head.

These videos are some shots of the trail and of the attractions from youtube the first one is posi rock

Well our camp area is pretty primitive other then a trail like road that leads into the camp. The only thing thats there are fire pits from other campers.

Yea, I wasn't able to find much either, other than the Dinky listings.  Ideally I would like to stay at some primitive sites near the OHV trail.  Maybe Ill call the local ranger office and see if I can track anything down.  Thanks for the help though!

I can't find any info on camping on top of the mountain, but I can say it will be covered in 4x4's that night. There are a good 50 rigs running this trail for the same reason we are going.

Mike: IM not sure if they allow camping on the rock face but I'll check and get back to you. For creeks, well dinky is down the road about 5 min from camp and the lake is about 10 min from camp. There was a small creek next to camp but it was a hike I hope that answers that Question.

Everyone please check the maps Ive posted and make sure if your not going to meet up with us at noon on the 6th that you know where your going. I will post signs but I dont think the ones on the main road will stay long...

Im interested for sure, whether I can get away from work is another matter entirely.  I have a couple questions though:

Is it possible to camp right out on that rock face above the lake?
Are there any streams nearby that I can get water from?

No real plan we may run into shaver sat morning to hang out on the lake for a few hrs before heading up. We just want to get out of the valley and relax. We head up the hill around 3pm or 4pm saturday the rest is "Spontanious reaction" so to speak.

Whats the basic plan for the when we're up there? Just going up Bald that night for the fireworks or are there other trails planned too? Is there a day by day plan? Just wondering :)
