@Jagy....yes sir, but if u r coming Friday we will exchange #s so you know where we are.

@Blowtorch.....I've never been there but I have been in the desert and it does get cold at night......bring jackets. I'm not doing my usual tent setup on this one. I'm inflating my twin air matress in the back of the FJ....less work. If I do pitch my tent it will be to store everything in or if someone needs a tent.

When I was there in February 2012, we went through a *lot* of firewood.  It can get really freaking cold at night!

Should be 3 nights for me too. I'll have to leave Sun in time to make it home by about 4ish for my little girls. But I'm a lot closer than you guys. I think I'm 2 hours to Jawbone......and I've never been there, but my truck wasn't made for desert and I haven't had dirtbikes or quads for 2 decades......wow, I'm getting old. I'm 34 and I can say I haven't had something for decades? WTF?!?

tightened down the upper and lower A-arm mounting bolts, the skid plate bolts were loose too. so far no clickity clunks! and picked up the 1st round of free firewood today, round 2 next week. should be plenty of time to let it dry out a little bit!

@ Blowtorch- yep I was clinching my cheeks just looking at ur pics. Good instincts on not panicking and assessing the situation. Well if you make it out with us there will be plenty of time for long stories.....

Doors close so better doors can open.....timing is a trip sometimes.

If we end up going somewhere that you guys don't want to chance a breakage, we can go around it........if fuel money is tight, you guys can jump in with me. I can seat 5 (with seatbelts....lol) more if we r feeling crazy. Hell we can all just get on one rig- roofrack can seat 8, front bumper 2, back seats down can stuff 6, 3 can stand on the back step, lmao. we might have to do that for a pic.

Comment by NyNomad on April 3, 2013 at 9:16pm

yup, can't afford to break anything either!

@Kabe - I *am* slowing down... I just gave notice at my current job and I don't have anything else lined up (long story, but still good to be leaving)... so I REALLY can't afford to break anything right now!!!  That's why I didn't immediately throttle out of my last near-roll in Hollister (I think you were referring to pics, earlier) and waited for a second opinion/set of eyes (eventually, I did turn hard into the direction of the roll and stomp on the gas... landed pretty hard, but rubber side down).  Playing it safe.  Everyone was waiting for me to try my usual stupid stuff all day, but I took it easy.
