Thats a good idea with the milk jugs Betty. and i will get some extra anchor stuff to make sure the tent stays down. we will see with the site when we get there.
FYI all food needs to be put away in the trucks or sealing plastic containers as there are a lot of hungry kangaroo rats out there.
The wind varied quite a bit when I was there just over a year ago. One or two nights were pretty windy. If you're planning to put up a tent, make sure to bring plenty of serious anchors and guy lines. Empty milk jugs can be filled with sand, etc.
firewood is needed for sure! I'm all about out of space in the truck with 2 people and 2 dogs. looking at the topography map, if it's to windy we can try to relocate.
I've never been there but a member on the SoCal site lives 10 minutes away and said the wind gets pretty bad. If within our camping vicinity there is no wind breaks, we can do the old Pismo trick and use the FJs as wind breaks with something draped or boarded off our sliders to the ground. Hopefully we find a wind break since at least me and Bryan will be there on Thursday. Hopefully we can beat the crowd. We'll see.
Also, if we are taking the run to Isabella, we can retrieve firewood if need be all over the mountains around there. That's my back yard and firewood is usually plentiful off the beaten track.
i dont really care where we camp at so that looks good to me! has anyone camped there before? does that valley get really windy there?

To keep on some sort of an itinerary the above information is up to date! I'm guessing some people might arrive Friday evening. This is what I have planned:
-Thursday: set up camp and do some Jawbone/ Red Rock Canyon exploring.
-Friday: Jawbone to Isabella Lake trail for some fishing
-Saturday, Last Chance Canyon area
-Sunday: Open to ideas
new updated location. a little more off the main road and looks like more area for camping:

Sounds good.......I'll be hookin up with you guys in Bako.
I'm stoked. It's gonna be fun. I can't wait to get out there away from the city and just have some fun.
