Event Description

For those going, post up if you are camping Saturday. I need to know if anyone camping is familiar with the trail/area. I will not be camping so will not be there Saturday. Also as to what time those camping will want to meet up. The trail run will be on Sunday.

The trail itself is rocky and has the occasional tight squeeze but nothing difficult. A stock 4x4 would be ok so long as you pay attention and take it slow. Ends at Eagle Lakes. The only obstacle is optional.

Directions:

The trail is easy to find. Take I-80 East towards Reno, take Eagle Lakes road exit. Make left at stop sign and follow the road as it goes slightly left for about 1-2 miles, where you will see sign on right hand sign letting you know to turn right. Follow dirt road about 100 yards and you are at trail head.

Some info on trail:http://www.norcalttora.com/trails/eagle_lakes.php

Time:

For those not camping, meeting at trailhead at 9 a.m. Sunday morning.

Comms: CB channel 31

Anyone have any info on the camping area?  I read that we can get down near the river.  Can we camp beside the river?  Is it an actual campground or dispersed camping? Is there enough room for a couple tents?  Trying to gauge what to tell the GF

Checking with the crew, but Id definitely like to attend for camping and wheeling.  I would probably try to make camp Friday if we can get off out of the bay area early, otherwise Saturday morning.  Ill update my RSVP once I know more.

Yeah she should be fine. Just take it slow and for the most part no worries. I wheel in turtle mode. Last year we had Marincruzin with us and I think he was stock.

Looking forward to seeing you both. Cha, can a somewhat stock FJ hang on the trail OK? I’ve read that it’s only rated a 4, but it’s an old post. I’m trying to talk my sister-in-law into going. No lift & has Toyota rock rails with fixed steps. Say hi to Ellen for us.

Well about a mile or so in you will run across a fork. Can't really miss it. Go left and just find a camp spot. I hear if you follow it you will meet the river. Hey Carl, we'll see you two that morning.
