FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hi all

As some of you know, I'm on the Rubithon committee for TLCA, and have been involved with it for a farily long time.

I was talking to Tony Twiddy (chairman) and we are trying to figure out if there is interest in a FJ Cruiser run this year.

As some may remember there was one in 2007 when the Trail Teams were around, and that was a great run. We don't have the Trail Teams, but we do have some of you who have done Rubithon before.

Is there anyone interested in LEADING an FJ Cruiser run? Someone that has done the trail a couple of times (at least once IN an FJ Cruiser) and would feel comfortable guiding a group in?

We were thinking of a Wednesday run or Thursday run after the bigger groups leave (1 PM Thursday).

let me know -- you can either PM me, or email me direct - rosswoody@earthlink.net

Thanks!

Ann and Mark did the run in 2008 when MTA went in. THey are good people to ask questions about Rubicon and FJC.

ALthought I did hear at the last MTA meeting that the trail is getting "easier".. I was not real sure how to take piece of information, but that is what was said.....

Do not think I will be able to do this run cuz I seem to keep making kids to btring into the world.. Maybe a shot gun seat but that wil have to be well planned.

Oh and Listen to what all have said, there is a reason this trail is listed as a 10 out of 10!!

The entrance is easier. They have graded much of it to put in a bridge to mitigate trail damage to a creek. So "gatekeeper" has been blown up and rocked over.

The rest of the trail is still just as hard. Cadillac Hill is harder.

OIC.. SO its "easier" to get into the trail..  ITs all about context.. hehehehe

I got it now...

I'm interested in going and will expect damage.
I would love to do this run, but it is way to advanced for me.  A ride along would be fun if anyone has an open seat!

Hi Ross!

We are considering running this year, along with TOE 4x4.

It IS a VERY challenging trail, and an experience of a lifetime.

Unfortunately, our damage came from a branch, heading out of camp, not some exciting obstacle.  If you cant handle the thought of some damage, dont even think about it in an FJC.

Awesome trail, not to be missed if given the opportunity.

Ross, let us know if the FJC run comes together.  That tip it for us.  Thanks! -Ann

I'm in. Love the Rubi.
Oh, hell, Jake's in!  This will be a fun trip! :)
I would be interested in a shotgun seat :-)
I am in and will be looking for a spotter to ride along. Taking applications now..
me too.

Dates for this will be June 14-19.. Fathers day weekend.. Had to look it up myself so I fugured I would post up..

This is a fun event and Rubicon is a lot of trail, but everyone needs to get out there and see why there are so many people are working hard to keep this trail open..

. I have not been since '08 and it may be time to gt out there again..
