Yup.  It just wont start afterwards :-)
LOL!
I found out that 1 in 10 will survive and if you turn off the FJ before the pulse you will save it.
I alwasy thought that an EMP would destroy all electric componets.. But I honestly have no idea of exactly how it works..
I read a study that 1 and 50 Americans know what an EMP is. In 1954 the earth’s equator had a magnetic storm caused by solar flares from the sun and caused an EMP. But the tech back then was not what is today being that the microprocessor was only invented in the late 70's eerily 80's.
The EMP caused telegraph stations to catch on fire and the whole grid was going nuts.
An electromagnetic pulse can cause voltage/current spikes in electrical circuits. The spike would be what damages the electrical components.
Would an EMP effect a vac tube???
Vacuum tube would likely be damaged if it was on.
Not likely there are like 5 computers in a Auto FJ, the Manual has 4 I think. plus the fly by wire throttle is all servo and computer controlled... if you had a Faraday cage you could drive away into the Apocalypse in the FJ....

you could always watch the mythbusters EMP episode
Sorry, not mythbusters it was future weapons on the military channel
Hmmm... why is the steel body not one huge Faraday cage?
