FJ Cruisers of Northern California

I am trying to make my own bumper. I like the old school FJ40 and the new FJ. I want to blend old with new. I was wondering what other people think. Thanks

The winch is the winch I have.

I photoshoped what I think I am looking for. See link below.

Ok You are right. Thank you. I own a Campground and I am building one in the off season. I use my FJ for Trail Exploring,Expedition, towing a pop-up trailer and stuff for the campground. I want a bumper that will keep bushes back away from the FJ front end. I also want to be able to push stuff out of my way. I would use the winch for tree moving and stump pulling also for recovery of myself and friends. In the back woods no lights so I would want it to bounce what ever gets in front of me without totaling my truck. I like the classic look of the old FJ40's. I have tons of photos of FJ40's and their bumpers. I love my 07 FJ but would like a more old school tuff bumper. I would also like to keep with tradition of all the FJ's in the past.
ARB has a pretty beefy bumper to move brush out of the way!

I have a EPI 09.0 Superwinch and it will not fit in a ARB bumper.
Well why not modify the ARB Bumper... If I remember correctly. Bozly has a used bumper for sale.. The ARB is definitely old school. They have not changed that design is years, it is stout, strong and protects the front end very well.

IMO... it is very hard to take and old design and put it on a newer vehicle.. it is much easier to take a new design and mesh it to an old vehicle.... Unfortunately... since you are doing a bit of 4wheeling. A simple design, like an FJ40 bumper, will not do you any good. The radiator hangs far too low and this could also cause a problem for other things flying up into the engine bay. Browse the blue room. I am sure someone has come up with ideas.
I have seen a few on the blue room and they didn't look good at all. I would love the ARB. I was told by a shop that I would have to cut a good portion of the top of the ARB to make it work with my winch and it would make the ARB weak. I have not found anyone that has done this to an ARB bumper. If you see a post, would you send it to me? Cuz it would be nice to have the ARB and add some hooks or D-rings.
WHy not get the used ARB and sell the winch for one that would work.. Maybe even find a straight-up trade..
The winch is brand new in box, anyone want to buy it for 800.00 bucks. Its a EPI 09.0 Super Winch W/synthetic rope. I only opened the box to see the instructions. The rope isn't even installed yet or out of its bag.

There's a ARB, Lights and winch on this forum for $850... Same setup I have. I highly recommend jumping on this deal.
