ping DocME.
???????????
The TRD packaging seems cleaner as it sits on top of the engine. Leaves more room in the engine bay for other goodies, and way less piping going around in the engine bay as well. The URD does seem to have more power and options though.

I think it means contact DocME to get his feedback on the TRD unit.
Yeah I did see what he says. I hope he says it sucks so I can save my money to get back into powered paragliding.would be cool to be able to fly around. When camping
The TRD supercharger is great, and I doubt you'll hear anyone say anything different. I now have 32K miles on mine and it's still performing well. I haven't had any issues with it to date. One of the best mods I have made.

URD makes a great package and knows what their doing. I wanted a full warranty along with the piece of mind that Toyota designed this system as a package after learning from their experiences with the S/C for the 3.4L. If I was approaching the end of my warranty, it would be a very difficult decision between TRD and URD. The URD just gives you so much more power.

The TRD S/C has been great, I haven't been looking around for more power, and that's really unlike me. It's reliable 300HP in a vehicle the size of a FJ, what else could you want.
The TRD is a cleaner install, less expensive and maintains the factory drive train warranty. Bad news is, it will toast your rearend if you drive like me, re-gear to 4.88s and have Mud Tires. I am on rearend number 3. That would be the same with the URD though.

The TRD rep indicated that the supercharger with the TRD CAI is 323 HP.
Thanks guys that was my thinking I want reliable power.I am at 35000 right now and will probably be close to 47000 by the time I save up for it.I. also like if I have probs I can go to toyota I have heard that some people were having probs getting ahold of someone to talk to at urd.alwell I guess it is the trd supercharger for me.I. guess I will have to put the powered paraglider on the back shelf.never had a vehicle with a supercharger but did fly for 9 years.and getting the supercharger will put me really close to tottaly finishing the fj project.thanks again everyone for you input

Any more to the story? did you install the SC?

I think folks were having a "hard time" getting a hold of Gaget at URD because they are trying to put the final touches on their second design for the 4.0L system. It's suppose to be pretty powerful.

Again I think URD is a good company to deal with and makes good product. I tend to take my FJ in places that it's hard to come by help if you need it. I chose the TRD because I thought it to be more reliable at the time (whether that's right, or wrong) I feel more confident.
I have their stage 2 clutch and would love to have all their 1GRE-FE stuff
Is there one for the 2010's?
not yet hopefully soon
