FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hello All,

I've seen this thread on other forums, looks like fun...I'll get it started.

I drove my rig to work (first time I've had it out in a few weeks).  Took it in for a wash..

At 18.5k miles over nearly 5 years, I have some sand-blasting effect, and quite a few surface nicks, but nothing where there's any cracking of the glass, so no repairs so-far. I do relatively few freeway miles, though....

Got a little rained on and dirty today off MET. Saw 2 vultures (?) and the cloud meet the mountains off Hwy 50.

pics here. Hwy 50 down there. In the second pic, on a skinny tree, one above the other ,are the 2 vultures, then we saw them both soar off! across the canyon!! Almost as large as Condors!!

Blacked out all the silver today. Used duplicolor spray on bedliner, mirrors are still drying. I'll add another pic once their on. Hoping to black out the roof and air dam in a couple weeks

BMC, yesterday. Thanks Chance!

And this happened yesterday (too late to post by the time I got home).

Toytec Boss, and TC UCAs.

285s next on the list......

nice, .

Steve.

Congrats on the new suspension...

looks good Dave...post up additional pics

285s on hold now.  Found out yesterday our company did not win the next 15-year contract for the operations in Yosemite.  The new contract starts March 1, 2016.  So, I have eight months or less to find a new job.  Hopefully it will be with the next contractor so I can stay in my position.  Regardless, until I get locked in somewhere, no more "upgrade" expenses for the FJ.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully you get the job with the new contractor. Good Luck.

Steve.

I swapped out my failed Propeller rear driveline.

I changed my oil and filter today and changed my oil filter housing from the plastic original to an aftermarket aluminum one. Just feels better.
