What did you do to your FJC Today???

Hello All,

I've seen this thread on other forums, looks like fun...I'll get it started.

I drove my rig to work (first time I've had it out in a few weeks). Took it in for a wash..

Thanks Jagy, yeah a bit. Not enough to really bother me but I think I will try to snug it up a bit. There's adjustable linkage linking the tire carrier to the door...

I am really happy with my AVS deflector. Several times a month I drive from San Ramon to Sacramento or Stockton to Sacramento at dusk. Before the deflector I could almost empty my washer reservoir and wear out my wipers. Since I installed it the skeeters, etc go up over the roof and miss my near vertical windshield. !! Works great.

Just a follow up on the the Bug deflector. Works like a charm, worth every penny. In the 2 or 3 weeks since I installed it, I have driven up the coast and all over, basically haven't cleaned the windshield (except with the wipers) since. Great purchase!

Too bad it cant deflect rocks!!! I had one hit me at 70mph last week and put a 10inch crack in my glass. Replacement glass this Saturday...$560 and the top piece of sheet metal has to be replaced, one time use they say. So I am paying the whole thing as my deductible is $1k.

Back on the AVS, I came back from Stockton last evening at sunset, Only two bugs landed on my glass, Great device.

Safelite, national chain, recommended by my insurance co, USAA,ought to be good at the price!! Will let you know more tomorrow.

Safelite said the piece of metal on the top of the windshield is one time use?

I had my windshield replaced a few years ago by them and the tech guy told me they reuse it since Toyota doesn't provide extras with the windshield (he told me FJ's are one of the more unique vehicles they deal with).

I had them come out last week to fix a small crack. The guy did a good job.
