When ever my buddy Kams dad is all healed up we are going to do a day trip to bald just to hang out if your down Ill let you know when I'm informed of which Monday it will be..
We're going to be hitting a bunch of Tahoe basin and Virginia City-area ghost towns on the 17th and 18th.
Funny I was thinking about heading up to tahoe the weekend of the 23rd and doing jumbo grade from washoe lake again but this time going all the way to virginia city. Love the area to bad it will be a week late.
I'm new to NorCalFJ, new to off-roading, and looking for some help / a guide to get started. I was thinking Hollister SVRA would be a good start. Week of 18 August (all week) would be great for me. It's not central CA, but it's close...
Last time I was there, they wouldn't let you go solo, and at least one person in the group had to have a snatch'um strap. Check first.
The Upper Ranch
This 800-acre area, which has about 24 miles of trails, is used for 4-wheel drive recreation and for 4-wheel drive and motorcycle special events; a fenced motocross track is also located here. Four-wheel drive operators should call before coming, especially on weekends, to make sure that the area isn’t reserved for a special event. To use the area for the day, register first at the park office. If your vehicle gets stuck or breaks down, you are responsible for removing it. The Upper Ranch may be accessed for day use from 8 a.m. to sunset. Vehicle operation is allowed only between sunrise and sunset.Ranger Station:
(831) 637-3874
I would be down for hollister the following week but this is my usual MO a week late a 7 dollars short.
I'm down for Hollister if I'm free.
I enjoyed Hollister when i went, I would be down for another trip!
I can't do next Saturday but I'm still looking to go soon. Maybe Sunday even.
I think we will be in Dinkey Creek/Bald Mountain area this weekend.
