Long Canyon/Cody Meadows Trail Patrol Sign Ups

You can sign up for any day of the week or weekend. We need to get people up there so we do not loose this privilege to another group.

Hey everybody, get signed up, Daryl is right, we may lose the chance to ride these trails and help the Forest Service.

I had a great time today driving both trails with Daryl. We found Cody Meadows to be in need of fallen tree cutting and removal in at least a half dozen locations. The trail has been detoured around these fallen trees and that has to be repaired.

We did move one fallen tree today, pics attached, but more needs to be done. Help us to help the Forest Service and add your name to the sign-up list.

I am going to be up at Lake Siskiyou August 9th-12th. One of the days I was hoping to get out and do some easy treading, either to Toad Lake or the Shasta loop. However I have not checked on the status just yet up there, I got the book Backcountry adventures of Northern California and saw they were close and good for inexperienced drivers like myself.

tl;dr - can I help when I'm up there 8/9-8/12?

I am not sure what you are asking. Are you asking if you can do a patrol on Shasta Loop?

Sorry for any confusion, and to clear it up I am not asking about a patrol on shasta loop. I am going to be in the area 8/9-8/12 with some family friends and one of those days I hoped to get out and do a trail or two. However if I can help out in Cody Meadows/Long Canyon instead, just let me know.. I'd love to help.

I will not be available on the 10th. Maybe the 11th. If you can coordinate with someone who knows the trail. You can go anytime. Just let me know when.

Im Down For August 3-4th the rock rails will be installed by then. less trouble to get through the last obstacle at long canyon.

Keep in mind there is a two vehicle limit. You can have as many as you want in each vehicle, but only two vehicles.

I may be available this Saturday. Let me know if you are for sure wanting to go.

Conor and myself are available to patrol either LCT or Cody 7/20 or 7/21.

I dont thoroughly know LCT enough to lead and my gps is a failure on Cody, however, we are willing to drive either trail as a second vehicle this weekend.
