Does anyone have recommendations for an alignment shop, preferably in the East Bay?

Looking to get an alignment for my wife's Lexus RX AWD and trying not to go to the dealer.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Most definitely.  Looking forward to it! :)

Thanks again!

My general reco is find a local alignment shop connected to a tire dealer, ie Firestone, Michelin etc. These top shops are where your dealer sends his cars anyway and you pay the mark-up.

Generally here in Sacramento a top shop like Linville  Bros, a michelin dealer here charges about $80 for a good alignment, that is where our area dealers, and my buddies shop Central 4WD send all their vehicles. I imagine Bay Area rates to a bit higher but not too much, expect to pay $150 at a good shop.

A good research page is at Click and Clacks web site Cars.com, go to "mechanix" files. All their listeners post up good mechanics by zip code.

Good luck.

Will check out Cars.com to see what I find.  Thanks

I see that you're in Alameda. There's a guy I absolutely love in Oakland on Brush Street. His name is Leon, and he owns Kraft Automotive. He really knows what he's doing. He does the alignments himself. I found him after multiple bad experiences at other shops, including Toyota.

Yes, I'm in Alameda.  I'm going to look him up and give him a call when the new tires get installed in a couple of weeks on my wife's car.  Can I tell him you recommended me?  How much does he usually charge?

Thanks!

Mountain View is a little far, hoping to find something closer but I appreciate your reply and will keep them in mind.  Thanks!!!

I think it's around $80 or $90.  You'll have to call and check.  And sure, just tell him the red haired girl with the FJ sent ya.

I gave them a call, a guy named Justin quoted me about $100 which is reasonable.  I told him that I will call back again when the tires are installed to make an appointment.  Thanks for the referral!!

p.s.  Love your handle :)
