We have plenty of pics. Won’t be able to post for a bit since we found out our USB cord somehow wound up in my brother-in-laws bag – in Sparks, NV. Max – the Summit is my only excuse for not making HH. I know, lame excuse. Other than the fantastic sights on the trail, the entire area around is pretty cool – and the towns of Ouray & Telluride. We also hit the Alpine Loop & Black Bear. We hit some wet snowfall on the way down from the Alpine Loop. Temps dropped to 39 degrees at the top. Our first trail was Black Bear. Holy Crap, I’m still trying to unclench my butt checks from the first turn on the Steps! My sister-n-law & brother-n-law are still giving me crap about taking novices on this. I had no idea. The Blue Room folks said all trails were a piece of cake for beginners. My brother-n-law became obsessed with looking up info for this trail. Turns out an average of one vehicle per year falls over the side on Black Bear. He found a post that said you should always use your seat belt. Not that it will save your life on a fall, but it makes it easier to recover your body. And this post “If you make it down The Steps, the rest will seem like a piece of cake and you can go into the first bar you come to in Telluride, clean out your shorts, and knock back a cold one, you're gonna need it to settle your nerves after that experience!” What a frekin awesome trip. Maria & I can’t what to go back!
