Oh if we had camped we would have driven down to Sand Flat. It just didn't make sense to take an hour to set up camp in the rain & I was also a little worried about letting Jim ride home alone. Tried to get you guys on the radio to say thanks and by, but we got held up for a minute in that camp where the Suzuki guy fell on top of his tent and we fell behind. Turns out Jim's Jeep is fine, and if he uses his shoulder to call in sick tomorrow I WILL post a picture of his rolled jeep as his new screen saver. He still can't open the driver's side door, so he looks like Bo Duke after 25 years of moonshine and one flaming arrow mistake. I'm going to try to photo shop a picture of the door of the car onto his if I ever find the time. Anyway we had a great time, and Jim loved the whole day including getting his Jeep flipped back. He does teach auto shop, so I'm sure it will be stronger than it was in no time. Thanks again for the work it took to put this together and the patience to wait for the last one to get out of the rocks.
You are very welcome, I enjoy doing that kind of stuff. I have a video I posted as well as the photos, there is much more that Josh is working with, should be some good stuff.
well...seeing that I can't make it through Canada, into Alaska, I think I'll take a break from the journey and plant myself somewhere for a few months. I would like to find a 3 month sublease to tackle a different adventure. If you guys know of a place in NorCal, let me know. I am currently looking in the Oregon area. Serendipitously, this means I'll be in the area for any rides and meets that come our way till November. Cheers, Scott
Thanks for the welcome. I have been out the Samon Dunes many time in the Jeep I sold to buy the FJC. Have not been to the dunes in the FJC yet.. I do belong to a club base out of Eureka,http://www.redwoodoffroad.com/ Let know the next time you are up this way maybe we can run the dunes..
Spring and Fall are always good you just never know about the rain, rain or shine it a good time . I would say summer is good but we have had four days of sun now so summer should be close to being over LOL.
Got the coils and top plates back from the powder coater today, they look better than new. Dropped the White Knuckle sliders of for powder coating today as well. Still waiting on the quote from All-Pro to rebuild the struts. If I can track down a decent deal on a set of UCA's for the front I'll have the truck looking much better for the next get together.
I'm terrible with names so I was hopping you could refresh my memory on who I met at the Goose and what their forum ID's are. Order any decals yet?
Hey thanks for the welcome! I haven't had the FJ offroad a whole lot yet, especially not to any parks. I know a lot of people go to a park south of me a ways in Hannibal. Ive been by there a lot, seems like a really nice place, anything from mild to wild it looks like but I havent had the guts to take the FJ out there yet, Ive only owned it about 8 monthes & just rolled 10k miles a few weeks ago.
haha yea thats about the only thing nice about this part of the midwest! I make the drive from here in Burlington to where Im originally from about an hour south of here in Illinois quite a bit. Ill have to add some pics to my profile, Ive been bad about not taking many. I bought a 2010 TT, only added a set of Spidertrax 1.25" spacers all around, oem hitch & wiring, and oem aluminum pedals so far. Now am torn between getting some OME 883 springs & clazzio leather seat covers or Toytecs adjustable coilover kit for it. Only looking to level it out at this point, but adjustables seem to be the way to go!
Ok, so I'm looking around the web at other FJ forums and see that some clubs have their own grill badges. Do we have these?!? I would buy at least 2 or 3. I realize these things can get pricey, I think it'd be really cool to have our own badges...
Hey it's ray, I'm still on the ship snd just got into LA. Long story short is it too late to get in on the freedom windows gb? I probably missed it. I'm headed back to Alaska tomorrow night and won't be home till may... Like i said I probably missed it but it's worth a shot.
Yes it was good to meet you and your friend. Next time you come up this way maybe we can plan a trail run. Thanks for the decals. Have a safe trip home.
Yes the snow out was a bummer. Evedently the race was a go until at the last minute the riders protested and refused to ride because of conditions. At race start time I was in Tahoe City and it was snowing like a blizzard and visibility was less than 100 feet. Six of the tour support motorcycles crashed on the course following the cancelation.
When I arrived at the cabin Saturday night I found that the bears had broken in and trashed the place. They ripped everything out of the kitchen and pushed the refrigerator across the room. Spent a nervous night sleeping with one eye open and my gun next to the bed and kept thinking I heard something coming in through the broken window.
Sunday afternoon when I went to head for home I-80 was a parking lot because of the 50 closure and chain controls over the pass. I ended up going home through Downyville which was spectacular, and got home 6 hours latter.
Hey at least the workshop went well and as planed. That was a good time and very informative. A big thanks to you and Tony
Thanks tater. Kinda bummed about moving away from Norcal, as I fell in love with it the 9 years Ive been here. Also enjoyed this group. Socal FJs a little large in number, so I will definately check out Stepcal, as I enjoy the smaller numbers. I will also stay with this group, as I have the Norcal sticker on my truck now anyway. Haha
I was very pleasantly surprised to see all of you roll by us on the Gold Lake Highway! I wasn't 100% sure that it was you, but on the other hand who else could it have been? ;)
We did our first bike century that day - it was all good!
Hi there - I am still very interested in purchasing a NorCal FJ sticker. I hear (from Bz) that the best method to ensure said transaction actually occurs is to "bug" you, so this is the beginning of you getting bugged.
Are there any meet and greets or events scheduled soon? If not, I don't mind sending the payment through PayPal. Please let me know how much it costs for the radically cool badge of honor.
I WAS WONDERING HOW TO GET THE NORCAL FJS STICKERS, I TYPED IT INTO THE SEARCH BAR ON THE SITE AND IT LED ME TO YOU. HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING THE STICKER FOR MY RIG?
Wondering if you had forgot to reply to my message regarding NorCalFJ white vinyl decals/stickers? I remember you wanted $5 each and I wanted to know how to get them from you, but we never connected from that point.

Good evening
What is the registration name of Skype?
A contact search is not made good in Skype of this place.
It is me who cannot speak English at all, but is all right?
Because I want to talk a lot, I look forward to.

That's a good point.
If my truck runs on patron do I burn the fuel to get away from a bad situation.
Or do I drink the fuel and feel better about were I'm at.
I must contemplate this. Hmm...
Probably have to go nuke powered just to be safe.
