Hows your procomp stage 2 holding up? One of my coil overs is leaking, I didnt notice the dirt build up untill just after a year so its around 70$ to get procomp to rebuilt it. I've got to pull the front diff to change gears to 4.56 and will probably send both in to get rebuilt while its apart. I was checking if my jack stands were tall enough not.. and one of the procomp links between the rear drop bracket and trans crossmember isnt quite straight anymore. I was having trouble trying to figure a skid plate because the rear end of the link is in the way bolted under the crossmember. I thinking chopping the rear end off and welding it directly to the front of the removeable section of the crossmember to raise it up. I havent figured why both ends have poly bushings and neither end moves, both crossmembers are attached to the frame.
Warranty on the coil overs is only 1 year so I missed that, but just under 70$ to rebuild isn't that bad only about 10% of what they get for them. Hopefully I get the front apart this week and get the diff and coil overs off to the shop. The more I think about it, I'm going to chop off the rear end of the compression strut and weld it to the trans crossbar. to get them up and out of the way they are just hanging out to get bashed and I haven't found an easy way to protect them. 5.5 inch lift and they hang down around 3?
Yes, after the lift install I cut off as per the instructions. after that I've re chopped it twice. I still can get it to rub once in a while but I haven't been out since dec to remind me where the rubs are. Is your rear end centered? the first bracket for my rear track bar was way off and My drive shaft would rub on the plastic gas tank skid, pro comp made me buy another one.. they wanted me to take it in to 4wparts in Oakland to check it out first so I just paid for it, 4wparts wasn't open in Santa Rosa yet and it would have cost me more for gas than the 35$ part. Its still not centered but 1/2 inch closer to the passenger side. It will move more to the drivers as the coil springs sag. the 2 other FJ's with the lift that I've checked are 1/2 or more to the drivers side too. Oh and did you turn your front sway bar over? My lift was 8 or 9th out so I had lots of not quite right stuff. My sway bar was hitting the coil overs and they sent me these funky extention things I didnt put them on, I had already flipped it over and took out the drop brackets and it doesn't hit and now the instructions are different.
yes the fix is to unflip the sway bar and remove the drop brackets, the new instruction has a plate to move it about an inch but mine doesn't hit without it. On the rear it doesn't rub but if you check it closely I'll bet your off center. After i put my lift on the truck shop that aligned it pointed it out and recommended an adjustable track bar but I'd have to have it made.... but the 3 places that have aligned it since didn't even notice. Compare the distance from the fender to tire or wheel to frame I'm betting your offset to the drivers side. Dog tracking a little isn't noticeable. Hey if yours is centered I'll have to see which part they changed and get it. The only thing that I dont like about Procomp is they don't update you when they change things I have to blast off another email to Sam letting him know i'm sending in the coilovers for rebuild.
Sunday is coo, i jst got to have my wheels rotated in the a.m. but thats all.. call me up if anything changes.. 4082053878.. joseph or joe is fine.. i been meaning to ask u.. the insides of my front wheel is wearing out pretty quick compared to the outsides.. i wonder if its just frm the daily commute to Santa Cruz due to the winding roads or maybe sumthing else.. wonder if its the lift?
see if you could get your pro to give you advance lesson plan for self study I used to do that from time to time when I was in school or maybe you come up thurs night?
It’s actually Rancho Murieta but the zip code (same zip code - 95683) shows up as Sloughhouse, CA.
It’s outside of Sacramento on Hwy 16, real close to Prairie City off Road Park.
What's up David! It's Alvin with the taco from the evergreen area. Hope I don't get roasted here by all the FJ folks! ha! Awesome site man....thanks for the invite.
Hey, What's up David? How's the air dam working out? Did you have the spacing issue that everyone was crying about on the other forum? As for me, I've been doing my homework on the install...seems like I need a lot of addition parts(fuse box, Switches, wires). So most likely I'll send back the air dam and get a replacement. That will buy me enough time to get all the other parts.

It was good. Been really busy working on my final projects. Can't wait to come home for a three week break. Maybe we can get some wheeling in?
