Epic Picture  thanks for shareing  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So awesome!!  I was just thinking last night about seeing if the wife wants to take the FJ on a road trip to Yosemite!

omg go!

That's a beautiful picture! Cannot beat the valley at this time of year - anywhere!

Nice!

Yosemite rumor control.  NPS attempting to open Glacier Point Road this weekend, and are shooting to open Tioga Road before Memorial Day weekend.  Stay tuned.....

Beautiful. Haven't been to Yosemite in close to 20 years and the wife has never been. Time to get out there again.

Well, Glacier Point Road won't open for this weekend.  They are now shooting for next weekend.  FYI, we have had very light "powdered sugar" type snow fall off and on all afternoon.  Nothing sticking on the valley floor.  Also, the past two nights, we have had two very loud rock falls, just to the left of the photo below.  No injuries or damage, it is just an open area near a climbing route.  The house shook pretty good both times.

YoseFJ,

I am planning on a trip to Yosemite in a couple weeks and was wondering if there are any trails open for wheeling in the area.

Not in the park--go off road here, and it's a citation or worse.

I'm told, but haven't yet explored, some in the Groveland area (off SR-120).  Oddly enough, others here may have much better info about those trails just outside the park than me.  Because I don't go out that way much, I haven't got to know it.  There really isn't anything along SR-140 (Mariposa route), because it is pretty much all river canyon.

I usually go out SR-41, toward Fresno.  But, I'm usually in a hurry, and don't take the time to explore.  I'd like to do the Chowchilla Mountain Road once that opens for the season.  My understanding is, that most of it is just a dirt road with little real "trail" on it.  It starts off SR-49 between Mariposa and Oakhurst, and winds it way into the park, ending up at Wawona.

There are 3 easy trails close by listed in "Sierra Nevada Byways." They are 1. Horse meadow loop, 2. Copper mountain loop, and 3. dunderberg meadow road. I have not done them. Maybe others have?
