Winches do brands matter?

Never used a winch before and im in the market for a winch mount and was wondering if getting a Warn winch over like a Smittybilt winch is really worth it?...I know Warn is more expensive but is it really worth it?

I had you in mind when I wrote my response above because I knew you had a good experience with them. I have purchased many tools over the last couple of years at HF and have had no issues.

Thanks i'll have to look into that...I don't have experience with winches that's why I wanted to ask and see if it was really worth buying a warn brand...
