FJ Cruisers of Northern California

I want to go off-road camping with a buddy this weekend in the sierra/eldorado area. As of right now, Barney Riley is not accessible from 89 and the area esty went to on the other side of Yosemite is also unreachable. Any ideas? Something like those two areas. I want to leave 6am Sat and come back by 5pm Sunday.

Thanks

a bunch of us will be at Hollister Hills this weekend

and most of the foothill trails will be closed from snow

Hey Bz, I can't make Hollister this weekend. My folks are visiting their grandkids... Oh yeah, visiting us too.

I believe all dirt roads in the El Dorado NF are closed to vehicles, due to the seasonal closure. I would check with a Ranger station in that area to confirm. If you are traveling with two or more vehicles, snow wheeling can be very fun and challenging. Provided you are prepared but if your only going in one rig I would look else where to wheel. OHV trails along I-80 are open but there will be snow. Boreal ski resort got about 5 feet of fresh snow this past weekend. Boreal is roughly at about 7000FT.I will be headed that way this coming Sunday as well to go find some snow for the wife and dog to play in.

Hmm. Trails along 80. That's doable. Thanks!

what they said!

Screw it. I'm going to Death valley.

LOL !!

Ya I'm going there in 2 weeks. Also probably The Hammers.

I just got tired of, "closed, too wet. closed. snow. closed."

I thought about Hollister, but I don't like people very much. LOL

We are from the same mold.
