WAMP Transportation thread Aug 8th,2009 (New Thread)

Ok I just confirmed with Jay from WAMP that they need rigs for the last weekend of WAMP Sat Aug 8th. I did this the extraction run last year and we need to be at the main staging area no later then 8am in the morning so we can get into the camp by 9:30-10am for load and then the drive out. expect to be done with the campers by 1pm, at that time we can decide to run the trail there or another one in the area.

From the first thread I'm taking the interested list.

We will be limiting this event to 15 rigs total. Those that have already confirmed and those that signed up on the first thread get priority, anyone beyond the first 15 will be on a standby. Only reason we are limiting is that we don't want to overload the trail with folks.

1. OPG (+2 and gear)
2. PotatoMutato (3 + gear)
3. DHeigher (3 +Gear)
4. EstySalinas (2 + gear) with dog
5. Mrs Bozly (2 + gear)

7. Marauder713 (2 + gear)

I will have the front passenger seat and the three back seats available. I will also bring my roof top cargo box for extra gear that needs to stay clean. My plan is to arrive Saturday morning.

Where is the staging area?

Also, I closed the first thread with a reference to this one.
For those not camping it will be at Plumas-Eureka State Park, Johnsville, it's waypoint 8 on the first set of GPS coordinates posted above.
OK I am am in...

Josh I was going to bring my military trailer for gear and stuff.. Do you think we will need it or am I just going to tow around an empty trailer all weekend long ??? I also would like to see how it is to tow on the trail so maybe if even if we do not end up using it it would be good practice. Ok let me know..

I will also have Friday off so I was going to try to head up early with Tater and who ever else is going to get our base camp set up in the good spot
you can use the trailer to carry my stuff.
hahahahahahahaha

NO !!!!
just got word from Jay, he said the trailer would be great.
Kewl I will get her ready for the trip.. Thanks for looking into it OPG
Bozly and I will head up on Friday and we will have back seat available plus roof rack and some of the cargo area. Looking forward to it. Will there be a run on Saturday Afternoon/Sunday?
i'm thinking about Deer Lake and Snake Lake. we missed Snake Lake last year. as for Sunday, there are some cool trails on the way out and there's always Sierra Buttes (not for folks who don't like shelf roads or heights).

some photos from last year's run can be found on the photo album: Gold Valley and Sierra Buttes Trail July 2008
Okay, my buddy Bob and I are in on this trip. Debating between driving up late Friday or just arriving Saturday morning.

We both are solo so we have room for 3 each plus cargo in the back. Please don't pick on Bob (he has an Xterra), as he is a good guy otherwise......
Oh no !!!

Hell I had a lot to pick on him on already for just calling you a friend.. LOL
i'm going solo, so +3 and gear.

current plan for me is to arrive at the designated campsite sometime Thursday (either afternoon or early evening), establish base camp and prop the back seats back up for WAMP passengers. i will send out the camping details this weekend.

we'll rendezvous with everyone in Johnsville at the designated time. perhaps we can have lunch in Graeagle after the extraction or high-tail it back to camp for lunch there. wouldn't mind hitting another trail later that afternoon. looking forward to this!
