FJ Cruisers of Northern California

So I'm making a trek from San Jose to Southern Oregon and back today and I thought to myself what better time than now to show a basic APRS Demo of my drive. All you have to do is entire a web address in your browser, there is no software of hardware needed.

Goto either

  • APRS.fi -This one is the easiest to use
  • OpenAPRS.net -this one is good but not as intuitive

My Callsign and identifier is KD6WJX-9

I will be going live around 8:30am and will be broadcasting my telemetry for my entire drive.

If you aren't sure what APRS is check out mypost in the Comms Group.

Feel free to throw any questions you might have to either post.

Very cool!.... When I had my 2820 I had DPRS setup and could access it through aprs.fi, But the ID-880 doesnt have GPS built in like the 2820 did.
cool stuff!...i see you must be installing your new rack at the moment.

That's awesome!

WOW your like going 73 right now
that is really cool, thanks for posting this up
given that you are going 76 now near Willows, perhaps you should take a spin at Thunderhill. and since when do you drive a green jeep?
I hope everyone enjoyed the demo I did yesterday.

Yes Tater I was installing the rack.

There isn't a FJ icon and I think of the icon a FJ40 and not a jeep.
