#1 is Spider Lake on the Rubicon (view from a helicopter). This is truly a spectacular place.

#2 is Buck Island Lake on the Rubicon (view from camp along the lake)

WOW BOth are very nice Sol !!

I took that ride at Rubicon last year and had a blast..

Told the Pilot to "Buzz the tower " ( I know. lame movie ref.) and he blasted the landing pad on the way back..

It was cool cuz the last thing I thought I wold do at Rubicon was take a HELO ride... Good stuff and great pics !!

Not exactly Nor Cal but the Eastern Side is close, this is Papoose Flat, a trail off the Saline Valley road about 15 or 20 mile out of Big Pine.

And the view

we camped down by the arch last time, then found this camp the next day. Cool campsite when overnight temperature is not 30F!
I love this view...We have to go there sometime.
guys these are beautiful pictures.

although i am not a big fan of developed campgrounds, D.L. Bliss in Tahoe offers some great views of the lake.
