Planning a Trail Run or other event remember to coordinate local communication before you leave.

If you are planning a trail run or even a meetup local communications is a must to remember to coordinate a head of time. Most of us don't have cell numbers for each other and we rely on CB/FRS/HAM radio for local communications. The problem arises if someone is running late or coming in later they might not have the radio information that was decided at the trail head. Another issue that arises is that some radios are not field programable.

Well the NCFJ Comms Group has taken the headache out of figuring out what  frequencies to plan for. We have developed a standard band plan for CB FRS/GMRS and HAM radio for any NorCal FJ run or event.

Visit the NorCal FJs Band Plan for the lastest information on what channels/frequencies are the common for the NorCal FJs and make sure to program them in or print out and put it in your glovebox. Also make sure you place the Primary mode (FRS,CB, or HAM) and the Channel and Tone in the body of your event maker

And while you're at it you might want to check out the

Good Radio Practice & Etiquette Post
