Paul - good to hear you are done with Iraq. Hope the job thing works out for you!

Welcome home.

I got the manual transmission because I wanted it.  I love it.  Yeah, you have to shift it yourself.  LOL.  One guy in this forum said he got the automatic because the wife wanted it.  Actually an added bonus of the manual is that the girls don't want to drive it.  It's your vehicle Buddy!

I love driving sticks but I think the auto is easier to wheel in the end. And not having full time 4wd sapping the power is nice. I feel like the auto tranny in the FJ works pretty well for the truck.

Interesting to see the gear ratio difference too. If you drive the Rubicon everyday M/T might be the way to go :-)

For most driving I lean to the A/T every time.

A/T first gear 3.52:1  Diff= 3.727:1  4LO = 2.56:1   Low 1st gear = 33.6:1

M/T first gear 4.171:1 Diff=3.909:1  4LO=2.56:1    Low 1st gear = 41.8:1 much lower by 25%.
