Long Canyon Trail Kiosk Build

As many of you know, NorCal FJs has adopted the Long Canyon Trail near Kyburz. One of the projects is to build a kiosk with trail information, our group information and whatever forest service information the FS wants to put in there.

What many of you do not know is I have been working with an Eagle Scout candidate, Matt, on building this as his Eagle project. He will be turning 18 soon and needs to get it put up before he does. He has it nearly completed and is hoping to get some of us to help him this Sunday to help dig the holes and put it up.

I will be going and depending on the FS decision, I may be able to take a small tractor up there to do the digging. But I am almost sure they will not let me do it for fire and liability reasons.

It would be really good to have a bunch of us to help out to show appreciation for Matt's work. They will feed us lunch as well.

I am unable to help out. But if I may offer tools, power tools, trailers etc. please let me know. I have some PT lumber and QuickCrete left over too.

Unfortunately, I will be arriving late in San Jose on Saturday. I won't be able to head out to Kyburz until noon on Sunday and it takes about 3.5-4 hours to get there. Sorry about that. Thanks for posting.

Wish I could help out Daryl, but we’re celebrating some kind of anniversary this weekend. Wedding I think. I’ll have to ask again. Did the large downed tree on the way to the rock garden ever get resolved?
