FJ Cruisers of Northern California

I will be hosting an Install Day and BBQ at my place on September 11th from 10AM to about 5PM or whenever everyone is done.. If you have something to install come on by. If you do not, come on by anyway. The location is about 45 miles east of Sacramento on hwy 50. The exact location will be PM'd to those interested near the date.

I will supply burgers, dogs, sodas and a grill. Others can bring salads, deserts, etc. I ask that no alcohol be brought on site. I have just moved into a new neighborhood and do not want to cause any problems with my new neighbors.

I have a few tools, plus a welder and compressor if I can get them wired up before then.

Ask questions if you have them. Post if you are interested.

If another date works better for a bunch of people, it can be changed.

Hope you can make it.

A big thanks to Daryl for providing a great location for installing my ICON lift, cooking a great BBQ, giving excellent advice, and jumping in to help with alot of the work! Also a thanks to his family for putting up with us all day. Had some good help from those that attended, and I owe all of you help on your rigs anytime you need it. It was cool when some of Daryl's local friends who were at the BBQ stepped in to help too. The one thing I forgot to bring was a camera, so thanks for posting the photos Jim. Not only did I learn how to install a lift, I also learned (the hard way) you better drink more than one small bottle of water while spending 5+ hours working under the sun (I think I'm still seeing things).

Thanks again Daryl,
Carl
I hope you are feeling better and enjoying your new lift.
It rode great all the way home. Only noticed a slight pull to the right, but I'll get an alignment later this week after everthing settles in. No big pop from the back springs, so you set those in perfect. Now I've got to make the my final decision on tires.
You are welcome to use my place again.
Which set of ICONs did you get? I'm considering getting a set too...hehehe...it just look so at home in morefjland's rig.
Your not kidding when you upgrade something......let me know when you get em, I'm more than willing to help you out with your install....
You don't need all of that for that loop, LOL. But your rig will be way more capable to handle that and above, looking forward to seeing it in action on a trail soon.
Your FJ is plenty capable of tackling Long Canyon as is.

Getting over the bumpy parts is 10% hardware, 30% Driver and 60% spotter. Just my opinion though.

We are going to have to work on the tea thing. HaHa.
I agree with DWH.....with a good spotter, you'll be surprised what you can do...with DWH spotting I have tackled Long Canyon stock without an issue.
More than capable with good spotters! Me & another rig were bone stock back in May's LC run, even with stock tires (basically street tires). DWH & PBn'FJ spotted for the group & we made it through no problem.
