NorCal FJs

FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hello NorCal FJ!

I am the newbie in the 2011 Iceberg White that tagged along on this past Hollister trail outing. Despite my stomach tied up in knots the whole way, I had a blast!  Many thanks for the warm welcome and useful tips that helped me survive my first off-road trip.  I look forward to seeing you all again at future events!

Welcome to Nor Cal FJ's Donna : )   Great job driving this wekend!   Did you make it out with intact side  boards?

Let's hope she didn't! Just an excuse to buy some sliders and start modding!

BTW, welcome to the group, and great job on the trails!  Also, thanks for the cookies!

Congratulations.  I'm glad you had fun.  Thanks, too for the cookies.

Welcome Donna. Great job out there!
Aw, thanks guys for all the great comments! I can't stop smiling from all the fun I had on Sunday! I've been so excited to show pictures to my friends and coworkers who were so surprised I made it out to the trails. I do have to admit that after seeing all the modifications, I am now interested on how to upgrade my FJ. What/Where can I purchase a reliable/affordable CB radio? (I can't keep sticking my head out my window asking the car behind me 'Left or right?') Feel free to throw out suggestions on staples that I should have in my FJ.

P.S. Yes, side boards are in place! Whew! The only 'war wound' suffered was a scratch on the bottom front skid plate (?) from when I drove head on into a small ditch coming down the trail instead of driving at an angle. And as you probably guessed, totally honked the horn. :)

as far a CB goes go on amazon type in CB and then search through them they all do the same thing and most are reliable i run a midland CB and it was only 40 bucks and works perfectly, once you get a CB get a firestick antenna 3ft or 4ft 3 probably better, a firestick coax cable (with out the rings) and a boztec antenna mount (pm Bozly) and and depending on where you are located one of nice guys can help you install it. as far as and sugestions for you all depends on what you want to spend this aint a cheap hobby lol and once you start you cant stop @_@ but i would suggest getting rid of your pattons (sideboards) and getting some nice rock sliders Cheers

Howdy!
