Help understanding and choosing a CB....

Hi, wish I had time to do the research but I know how helpful Norcal FJers are!!! I'm looking at installing a CB before the All-Call M&G. I came across this on CL and was wondering how this will do?

What else besides the radio would I need? Bandi mount and what else?

Yes, if it works would be a good question. Better yet, test it to see if it works if you can. Also, if he opened it up and messed with the insides too much, it may be toast. If it is, then your voice would sound weird and all kinds of funny problems.

Looks alright.. Find out of there is a mic with it. Something like that you could always mount to the back of your center counsel and it would be real easy to run power there. Get a bandi mount and you will be set..

So thanks to everyone who replied to this thread! You all were helpful in helping me understand such a simple concept in CB radios.I went with a Uniden PC68XL from EBAY for $60 and got the FJ cruiser kit from Walcott CB. I did forget two things tho 1.) a PA speaker 2.) a 4 ft Firestik instead of a 3 ft. Thanks again!!!
