Axxess ASWC-1 install

I upgraded my radio this weekend to a Pioneer AVH-X3600, Also ordered the ASWC-1 (Steering Wheel Control) and the SWC Add-on Harness w/RCA for Toyota with 20 Pin Connector so I didn't have to hard wire anything in. I got the radio in with no issues at all, but trying to get the ASWC-1 to work was a no go. From what I can tell the 20 pin connector was not made for a 2012 and on the website instructions are only up to a 2010. You really only use about 6 of the pins but they didn't line up at all plus the actual plug looked bigger than what was coming out of the dash. I could hard-wire it in but it always makes me a little nervous to start cutting wires. For now I just put the radio in and left the hand controls off which I will say is a HUGE upgrade to the Jammer. Has anyone tried this setup or should I just suck it up and hard-wire it in?
