Updated campsite coordinates are N35.328, W118.078 about a quarter mile further up the road than the last coordinates

I am pretty sure my friend told me there is one at the intersection where we turn in to Jawbone????

There is stores in Lake Isabella too. Like real grocery stores. I'm finishing up but it's like a rat race for the next couple hours till we get on the road.

the old roommate and i are planning on doing the grocery shopping when we get up there. just need to find the grocery store!

I have quite a bit of firewood. I still have to hit the grocery store in the morning and pack my clothes and everything in the FJ. I've been busy from morning till night for the last 3 weeks it seems. I'm too tired to even pack my clothes tonight, but It'll be a quick load up in the morning because everything is ready to load in the garage. I'm gonna get a good night sleep and be ready to have some fun in the desert.

@Bryan......give me a call or text when you get close to Bakersfield. It'll take me about 15 minutes to meet you at the Starbucks on Oswell. If it takes you longer than expected to make it to Bako no worries. I'm in "go with the flow" mode from now till I get home Sunday......I can't wait to get to the desert. It's gonna be great. My good friend and neighbor is gonna come and he's a great fisherman and fishes Lake Isabella sometimes 2-3 times a week. If it's too crowded from the derby he'll show us the honey holes on the River.

As far as shooting, I think we better skip it. There is shooting allowed in spots all over the mountains and desert, but being turkey season and probably a lot of people off roading in the desert, I don't feel comfortable shooting. I'm sure we will be too busy anyway. Maybe we can get a hunting/shooting run organized when the bird seasons open in September or sooner for wild pigs (great eating) if we can find someone with private property that will let us camp, shoot/hunt, and wheel.

I'm going to get a late start because I still have a bunch of work to do in the morning before I can even pack up the truck and load the cooler. I'll keep an eye out for updated GPS coordinates – that is, if you guys even have a cell signal out there and can post them.

i going to kinda feel sorry for the two dogs stuffed in the back seat! lol, we'll post up GPS coordinates of our camping location as soon as we can!! hope to see you out there! ... Aeon,  stinks but no biggie! In my head if works permits I'll be working on a West/Strawberry/Mirror Lake area camping, wheeling & camping trip sometime in either Sept. or Oct... I'm still working on paying off bills for the quest to be debt free

Oh yeah!!!!! I'm so freaking excited!!! I have to finish up my DIY gas can basket and pick up some grogeries and firewood, pack up and I'm ready. I'm so ready to get out to the desert in the FJ and hang out and get to know you all. I already feel like I know a couple of you. I just have to put some faces with names (real names.....lol....). I see friendships and goodtimes in our near future.
