I
f the gate to the top of the spillway is open, we may be in luck. If it is, that would be a great spot. But, everyone else might think so as well. I am sure everything close ( remote sites) will be booked on this weekend. I know a few quite spots back down the road from the boat ramp area. This remote sites would not be close to the event, but there are a number of spots to park and sleep. Bring bug juice. The bugs are big and many for this year. Lots of water.
I would think the area at the bottom of the spillway is going to be packed with rigs and people. I will plan to bring the trailer down to the bottom. I just hope we can get it out when a run is needed. I assume we can dump trash at the boat ramp trash bins or bins near by.
I was planning to head up Friday late afternoon. I have a presentation from 8 to noon in Sacramento, lunch, head for home and then up the hill. Hwy 80 and 50 are going to be crazy Friday night on the big weekend. Placerville will be packed. Should I wait for you and Steve?
There will be no camping in the spillway as thats where the event will be held. camping can be in the camping areas near by or in the staging areas. IT will be tight as they expect lots o people this year.
Bill, if you can ge there early and get that good spot let me know. Bring your trailer for the trash runs. I was talking to Jeff and he thinks that we can stage it some where and load it up and haul the trah away.
I am not sure when I am getting there bhut I may just try to bardge it up on Firday night and deal with the traffic.. I stil have to finish up those plans.
Just talked to Jeff.
Friday Set up will be afternoon-ish. They will mostly set up the foot print of the kitchen area. ie just ge the E/Z-Ups and other things set up. We will get the kitchen set up on Saturday morning before we start.
Saturday. 8am start on saturday. I guess Jeff would like us to start in the am. We will set up the kitchen itself and get ready to start serving around 10-ish. We are going ot start cooking arounf 8:30am.
Sunday morning I believe will be the same but there is a club cooking on that day and I am not sure if they will be cooking all day or not. I will be there on Sunday to help but not sure how much help they will need 0on Sunday. Not sure what tiem the clean up is. We may go until we run out of food.
The event itself is going to be pretty huge this year as they have the most # of venders attending this year.
Everything should be there and ready to go, they mostly need people to move the food. But I will double check with Jeff to make sure they do not need anything else. Should be kind of loud down there with all the pop.. I will double check and see exactly where we will be able to camp I know we can go into the trail a bit and find a spot.. Jus tnot sure how close that will be to the spillway. Jeff did day we coul dhave a spot to set up a Tread lightly! booth... We shoudl talk more about that though.
